Friday 11th March - Visit to Dr's

Been to the doc's today. Been prescribed Amitriptyline but got home and read the leaflet to find it contains Lactose. I'm Lactose intolerant. Why do they not realise that when they prescribe me stuff? It should have been in my notes for about 2 years now! And why do pharmaceutical companies still insist on using Lactose in tablets when there are huge amounts of people now intolerant to it? Aren't there other sugars they could use instead?

Also found out my vitamin D levels are way low but the doc can't prescribe it in the amounts that I need so it has gone back to the rheumatologist so she can prescribe the required dose, hope that's not in tablets with Lactose in! Injections would be better, then it won't upset my stomach.

Remembered to ask the doc about getting a blue badge for the car for when my knees or back are really bad. He is going to look up the criteria for getting one for me and see if I qualify.

Also he is writing a note for work to prove I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and it is not a made up illness.

At least the fibromyalgia explains some things; the why I can't bear to wear my watch for very long and am constantly taking it off because it irritates me, the same with necklaces, the all pervading exhaustion, the problems with my short term memory and concentration lately, being half way through a sentence and forgetting what I was going to say, the not being able to find the right words or write properly sometimes, the being unable to tolerate screaming kids or repetitive sounds and some smells, the bouts of unexplained dizziness, the increase in headaches, the random bruises I can't remember causing, the reason my glasses sometimes hurt on my nose or behind my ears that means it feels like they are squeezing my head when they are not tight at all and no doubt many other things I will think of later!
